About Yoga

Balance – Strength – Awareness – Breath

My Yoga classes for Balance & Breath are taught in the Iyengar Yoga tradition, with a strong focus on precise alignment. This approach helps you develop the ability to observe and assess your own body, allowing you to progress safely and consciously. You will learn to work intelligently with your muscles rather than relying solely on natural flexibility, cultivating strength, stability, and awareness.

We practise standing asanas, forward extensions, inversions, backbends, and restorative poses, creating a well-rounded practice that explores the full family of asanas. Props such as blocks, belts, bolsters, blankets, and chairs are used thoughtfully to enhance alignment, accessibility, and deeper exploration. Classes are carefully designed to support safe practice. Through this structured yet explorative approach, you will develop balance, clarity, and confidence on the mat.

Breath – Pranayama

During the last week of each month, the focus shifts to pranayama. You will learn to refine your relationship with the breath and experience how pranayama, combined with restorative practice, supports deep regeneration—helping the body and nervous system to recharge and re-energise.

Designing yoga sessions that respond to individual needs is central to my teaching. It is important to me to practice yoga by cultivating an ahimsa (non-harming) attitude towards yourself and practising with curiosity and joy. By working in small groups (up to 10 yogis), I offer precise guidance towards safe practice. My intention is to support you on your yogic journey and encourage you to build—or re-build—a solid, sustainable foundation for your yoga practice.

Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life,“ says B.K.S. Iyengar.
